ABOUT OUR CHEFS

Our Head Chef Joe originally from the UK and comes with 18 years of experience, he has made his way to The Hideout team. Joe has an innovative approach to traditional dishes and creates a positive work environment where a passion for food is fostered. He takes inspiration from multiple cuisines and creates unique flavours we know you’re all excited to try. Partnered with classics we all know and love. If Joe’s not in the kitchen cooking up a storm or singing to his first love Michael Jackson, you will often see him running your amazing meals and connecting with our community. When Joe isn’t in the kitchen, he’s being a committed family man with his wife and two kids or running marathons like mad man.

Not to be confused with Joe, Joey our apprentice is vital member of our close knit team. Our talented Joey has been with us from the beginning of his apprenticeship (3 years) and is blossoming into a chef we are all proud of. Joeys dutch roots means he grows a foot taller each day and has fostered a love of Australian and European food. Joey is often cooking your food whilst lip syncing to whatever song is playing in the kitchen. Joey is always happy and has a can do attitude, watch this kid, he’s going places. When Joey is not in the kitchen he is fishing, buying more fancy shoes, or chilling out with friends.

Jane Our Sous Chef has 10 years experience and is dual qualified as both a commercial chef and patisserie. Jane has been with The Hideout family for the longest (almost 4 years), and has evolved and grown with us. Jane is the one responsible for all the baked goods, sweet, pastries and breads. You name it, Jane is only looking to do it all. With a passion for learning and connecting people through food, Jane is your go to Gal for your sugar fix. Yet, Jane stays close to her savoury roots, being trained buy old school Italians for years of her career, she is proud of her Australian and Italian Heritage. When she’s not in the kitchen she’s probably snacking, reading and hanging out with her cat, and don’t forget her wonderful soon to be husband Hayden.

Fun FactS: Joey is a single, Jane is a twin and Joe is a triplet. Perhaps our next chef may be a quadruplet?

The Hideout chefs believe our cafe restaurant offers a unique place to settle down and create roots, it offers what most hospitality places don’t: a commitment to fresh and exciting seasonal dishes, a close work family and true work life balance. The owners Brad, Alicia, Ali and Tori all  work collaboratively with our chefs, providing support and assistance, as well as a good laugh, someone to talk to and to create memorable times with. Jane and the Joeys all feel proud to be part of The Hideout family and The Hideout feels honoured to have their talent and commitment.

Our Store Managers Jess & Tamra are the ultimate duo

Jess & Tamra have a combined 20+ years experience in customer service. They make the perfect team, balancing each others strengths. They both make a bangin cup of coffee with both having a passion for speciality coffee paired with delicious food and amazing customer service.

Jess our Store manager and head of operations across our 3 locations. Being apart of the Hideout Family for 4 years, and a customer since we opened. Jess has a passion for structure mixed with creativity having a bachelor in Architecture she is the face behind most of our graphics. In her spare time, Jess one of three places, playing netball, renovating her house or camping with her Husband Marcus and 2 doggos.

Tamra our Events & Marketing coordinator along with 2IC has been with us since 2018 before we even had a Kitchen. Tamra loves capturing the heart of our business and giving the best experience to our customers in any capacity. Tamra loves making peoples events memorable and works very closely with you to make sure your event is one to remember. You will see her taking pics, making a mean coffee, running our events or chatting our regulars ear off.
